The purpose of testing terminal products is to add to official public registers of performance levels for growth, carcass and meat quality for terminal products derived from different hybrids of boar and sow genetic types, as produced by approved Pig Breeding Organisations. This twenty-seventh test evaluating four terminal crossbreeds demonstrated significant differences with an overall threshold of 5% per trait between genetic types analysed pairwise for growth index. These differences resulted from differences observed in the two growth grade components, i.e. average daily weight gain and feed-to-gain ratio. Furthermore, the genetic lines studied in this test presented differences in terms of certain carcass and meat quality criteria. However, there were no significant differences between the genetic lines compared in terms of market carcass and quality grades.
