Effect of the rapeseed meal incorporation rate in diets given from 12 kg to harvest on performance of piglets

During the post-weaning period from 12 kg to harvest (phase 2), a control diet with 3 % of rapeseed meal (Temoin) was compared with dietary proportions of rapeseed meal (Tcolza) of 15 % in optimal (Opt) or degraded (Cd) housing conditions (Exp.1), or 12 % with a low or medium glucosinolate content (Exp.2). Tcolza and Temoin diets were also supplied in 6 commercial herds (Exp.3). Piglets were individually weighted at day 14 for Exp.1 and Exp.2, and pens were weighted at the start of the experimental period for Exp.3 in order to evaluate the phase 2 performances.In Exp.1, piglets housed in optimal conditions and fed with a Tcolza diet had a lower daily feed intake (DFI) (1005 vs. 1091 g/d, p
