The aim of this article is to propose economic profitability indicators to help farmers understand their activity,identify improvements or develop new projects.The farm-type system developed based on the economic profitability of farms surveyed enables any pig barn that processes and sells its products on-farm to position itself in relation to operating surplus per kg carcass and compare to sector characteristics.This comparison should enable the farm manager to identify criteria where this is room for improvement.
