Which objects should pigs be provided with during finishing?

The first phase of the trial was to assess animal preferences between 8 different objects made available for a two-week period. The second phase was to compare three treatments over the entire finishing period. The results of these studies show that, given objects with identical physical properties, pigs preferred the objects that were fixed to the floor, or at least easy to reach when lying down.
