Safety evaluation of the SUIGEN®APP2, 9, 11 vaccine in pregnant sows

In France, control of pleuropneumonia very often involves reduction of carriage, in particular by immunizing pregnant sows with vaccines based on bacterins [1]. In parallel, toxoid-based vaccines provide cross-protection between serotypes and reduce associated lesions [2]. The objective of this study is to demonstrate the safety of intramuscular administration of SUIGEN®APP 2,9,11, an inactivated vaccine combining bacterins of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae Biovar 1 serotypes 2 and 9-11 and ApxI, ApxII and ApxIII toxoids, under field conditions. Vaccination is carried out on sows during the last third of gestation.
