Interaction between season and feeding level or amino acid supplies on pigs' growth performance

Feeding strategies used during the fattening period are mainly evaluated through the performance of pigs in terms of:
- Growth rate (ADG) and Feed conversion ratio (FCR), characterised on farm: major factors of production costs;
- Lean meat content (LMC) assessed by the online carcass grading method at slaughter: major factor of farmer's income.
A study was carried out to characterise the impact of a 15% feed restriction or a limiting amino acid (AA) supply on ADG, FCR and LMC of crossbred pigs fattened indoor under thermoneutral conditions (batch 1) or summer conditions (batch 2).
